This month we have a full-afternoon workshop with Claudia Kratzheller, "Contact-Tango K.I.S.S. (Keep It Super Simple)", followed by an evening jam. See below for details, including how to register. *** What's danced? - Tango with elements from Contact-Improvisation - Contact-Improvisation with elements from Tango - Just Tango... - ...or just Contact-Improvisation. - Tango or Contact-Improvisation with elements from any movement art, including but not limited by physical theater, martial arts, other dance forms. In other words, you're welcome to stay within, out of, or just on the lines as much as you (and your dance partner) like. All levels and areas of experience are welcome. Or as i wrote once in a poem: "Tango is listening to the music of each other's bodies in the ear, through the skin, to the hands, flowing through the embrace down into the feet tango is walking the future-together moment for moment, now as thinking stops, the dance begins." A bit of my professional background: I have been teaching Contact Improvisation in the CI-network Amsterdam for several years (some of you might know me from there). Before that I've worked as a dancer with Bruno Listopad, and as a choreographer (works were produced by Danshuis Amsterdam and Korzo Theatre, Oerol Festival). Tango came into my life... and with that my son Luka! I taught Tango classes in the Academia de Tango (2004-2006), have been teaching week-long Tango workshops for Buitenkunst ("Tango Fusion" in 2008, "Menage a Trois" in 2010, "Theatrale Tango" in 2011). Tango with an "edge": exploring the possibilities of the dance beyond the steps only!
