About this Event

CONTEMPLATIVE DANCE PRACTICE (CDP) Saturday 4 July | 15:00–18:00 Monday 6 July | 15:00–18:00 Contemplative Dance Practice (CDP) is a movement practice developed by Barbara Dilley, combining meditation, embodied awareness, and improvisational dance. We begin by sitting together in silence, gradually tuning our attention toward breath, sensation, sound, and the space around us. From there we move into space of personal awareness practice before entering an open movement space, where each person follows their own curiosity and rhythm. There are no steps to learn and no choreography to perform. We practice listening—to ourselves, to the environment, and to the shared space that emerges between us. CDP offers a rich way to: • deepen presence and embodied awareness • cultivate ease in improvisation • develop sensitivity to space, timing, and relationship • discover movement through observation and attention Developed by Barbara Dilley, CDP has long been practiced within the wider Contact Improvisation community, offering a contemplative counterpart that nurtures observation, patience, and compositional awareness. The practice is open to movers of all backgrounds including dance, meditation, performance, or simply curiosity - welcome. ------- 📍 Venue: Rong Sa Dang, 2nd Floor, Tha Phae Road, Chiang Mai https://maps.app.goo.gl/oWKVoGzBfHPdy9DE7 📅 Saturday, 4 July 🕒 15:00–18:00 📅 Monday, 6 July 🕒 15:00–18:00 ✨ Intro: Sima Soera 💰300 baht (for those not attending the workshop) 🌿Walk-ins welcome Please arrive a few minutes early so we can begin together. . .
