Contemporary Series for Zoukers

Welcome to 2021! Filled with inspiration and motivation, I bring you a unique dance experience from my home to yours: a Contemporary Series for Zouk Dancers! Unique you say? Well, of course! Contemporary dance is a blend of all dances that someone knows on a foundation of ballet, so if you've studied Brazilian Zouk, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, or Improvisation, you'll feel right at home here in my class. Solo dancer looking to add Zouk to your blend? Zouker looking to learn a little solo dancing? Human looking to connect with other humans? Welcome to class! The goal of this class is for students to explore their artistry, creativity, emotion, and self-expression in solo movement that feels familiar. When we discover our full potential as solo dancers, we have magic no none but us can bring into a partner dance. How amazing is that?! In these classes, we begin with a 30 minute Jazz warm up with isolations, cardio, conditioning, body movement, ballet technique, and rhythm training. After that we work on choreography. The goal is neither to perfect the steps nor to have a performance at the end. This dance is a playground for you to explore, discover, and grow in your dancing. I just finished a pilot edition with my current students that was a total hit. I cannot wait to open our doors to you! We have a live class on Zoom every week with recordings that stay up in a private Facebook group for you to review or catch if you aren't able to join us live.
