Since moving to the States in 2000 to pursue music full-time, his skill and dedication has guided him on the nomad’s path from the Cleveland Institute of Music to international tours out of his home base in Portland, Oregon. In the classical realm, Ilya has performed with several Russian and American orchestras, chamber groups, and as a soloist. With over a decade of experience as a chameleonic studio musician on violin, viola, and mandolin he is lauded for his ability to fluidly adapt his improvisational mastery to any genre. Ilya also fills a unique niche by infusing electronic music with classical technique and a sensibility spanning epochs of music. His collaborators include RANDOM RAB, LYNX, RENA JONES, THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE, FUTURE SIMPLE PROJECT and DEVOCHKA. Currently, he performs and works closely with innovative electronic trip-hop producer EMANCIPATOR. As a producer under the moniker Lapa, Ilya weaves together musical stories with complexly textured harmonies, expansive melodies, and intricately layered beats. His music blurs borders and transcends boundaries, illuminating the resonance of universal forces and teleporting people to wild, dream-like places of serenity and connection. F R A S E - Vancouver FRASE is a singer, producer & multi-instrumentalist who grew up in Montreal and migrated to the mountains and music scene of British Columbia in 2017. With authenticity and lyrical finesse, his voice blends the classic sounds of Soul, Hip-Hop and Dub and pairs it with production that pushes the boundaries of contemporary electronic music. With a hybrid live performance: singing, dancing, playing guitar, keys, looping and mixing in his productions allows him to straddle between two worlds, having one foot in the live band scene and the other in the electronic DJ circuit. Amplifying the performance aspect of the live show is dancer, percussionist and vocalist Embody MVMT. She is a trained Contemporary dancer with years of experience in street dances: Hip-Hop, B-Girlin’, Popping and House. The duo's dance collaboration began on the subs while opening for Fat Boy Slim in 2016, they have been couple on a mission to move people ever since. V E K K E D (7 Time DMC World Champion) With 7 World DJ Championship titles to his name, Vekked is the most decorated competition DJ of all time and the only DJ to win titles in every category of the DMC World Championships. In addition to his competition success, a video of his winning routine went viral gaining coverage from mainstream media and shares from various celebrities. To date it has amassed over 5 million views on YouTube making it one of the most watched DJ sets ever. On the party rocking side, Vekked has played festival stages at Tribal Gathering in Panama City (Panama), Stress Free Festival in New York (USA), and Kame World in Auckland (New Zealand), Shambhala Music Festival and Fozzyfest in British Columbia, Under Pressure Festival in Montreal, House of Paint Festival in Ottawa, Connect Festival in Saskatchewan and Evolve Festival in Halifax. His talents have taken him on two tours from coast to coast across Canada, and in 2018 he travelled south to the United States and headlined a 27-date solo North American tour from Chicago to Texas to Seattle, and everywhere in between. _____________________________________________________________ Workshop Experiences S o n i c Y o g a - Ottawa Sonic Yoga is the Ottawa based yoga and sound creation of Katt Brooks and Drez Slezak (also known as DJ ASTRL TRVLR). These two take you on a journey through sound and movement using breathe, meditation, flow yoga, sound healing techniques and live mixing. Sonic Yoga guides the participants through an accessible flow yoga practice while they experience the true benefits of frequency and sound. The journey is professionally cued to link body, movement, breath and sound, so participants can be encouraged to get lost in the “flow” of their movement and be encouraged to be creative with their inner self.
