Country Throwdown - August 23 @ Diamond Dancesport w Rachel Mercedes & Eric Nava

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Diamond Dancesport and Strut Dance Studio at Chicagoland Dance Festival! We love our Chicago dance community! The weekend might be over but that doesn’t mean the party’s stopping—we’re back at it on Friday for another COUNTRY THROWDOWN! 7:15pm | West Coast Swing Lesson taught by Rachel Mercedes & Eric Nava ($10 or $5 with Open Dance Admission) 8-10pm | Open Dance ($15) Come hang with our amazing Crew as we'll be bringing you the best in country couples dancing with some line dances thrown in to boot. Either way, getting your groove on with your fellow Chi-Town country enthusiasts is all we care about! We'll open at 7:15pm with a Country Lesson (dances will rotate each month) and follow that with open dancing from 8-10pm(ish) On Country Throwdown Fridays, dressing down (aka dance boots, jeans & cowboy hats) is appropriate but not required. Country dancing includes many crossover dances to ballroom so our mix of music of music will allow for dancing Country Two Step, Cha Cha, Nightclub, Waltz, West Coast Swing, Hustle, East Coast Swing, Double Two Step and line dancing. If you have requests let us know! 🤠 ***Don't know all the dance styles listed? No problem! We play songs with an intended style in mind but also make a point to call out other dance style options to encourage you to spend a majority of your time on the dance floor using the dances you feel most comfortable with. Complimentary water and snacks are a staple offering at all Diamond Dancesport open dance events to keep you energized for a whole evening of dancing. Parking is available in front and behind the studio.
