Creating Consensual Connection plus Ecstatic Dance event for Gaza:)

April event - combining an evening of Dance with our Consensual Confidence event! NOTE - Location is Free Flow Studios, Academy Street Cork Consensual Confidence and Connection, a space where you can meet new friends, connect with partners and pals and be part of a caring, consent focused, sober community. We start with a fun workshop and practice space focusing on boundaries, consent, and communication, then you choose how you would like to practice, enjoy, and explore platonic (non-sexual) and nurturing touch and communicative experiences with your fellow attendees. Think hugs, back rubs, spooning or simply connecting whilst chatting; listening and being listened to. How you choose to participate is up to you, including no touch at all! This is a space to truly unwind, learn some new approaches to consensual connecting, take time for yourself and feel good. Hi, I'm Gráinne Carr, I facilitate a variety of consent focused workshops and deliver talks and trainings to individuals, groups, and organisations. I’m a Wheel of Consent Facilitator and one of only two qualified facilitators in this type of non-sexual consensual touch inclusive workshop in Ireland. At this event I will lead you and the other guests through an orientation where we’ll go over and agree to the simple rules that make the experience of connecting with others fun, safe, and easy. Then you’ll have plenty of time to relax, chat, practice creating consensual connection or just hang out with a lovely group of people. People come to this event for lots of different reasons. Some people are already comfortable with touch and want to be in a place where boundaries are respected, so they can relax. Some aren’t even sure they want any touch at all but come to explore some communication skills. Some are just curious to know what it is all about! Benefits may include: An increased sense of well-being and belonging, A boost in compassion and playfulness, More confidence in asking for what you want More confidence in responding to requests, including voicing your Yes or your No! A decrease in blood pressure and afterwards, a better night's sleep.
