About this Event
Robbie Fraleigh is back in town to share another round of thoughtful West Coast Swing.
Whether you're just getting into the dance or have been around a while, this workshop will offer useful tools and ideas you can carry into your dancing right away.
The focus will include connection, rhythm, and partner clarity, with plenty of space for questions and group input. Robbie will tailor the content of the third class based on who shows up and what the group is curious about. Been working on musicality, turn technique, whips, or fusion ideas? All of that is fair game. Feel free to drop into the event discussion with any thoughts or things you’ve been noodling on.
No experience necessary, but you MUST take the first class if you don't have existing WCS experience.

CLASS DETAILS
Class 1 – WCS Geography
A useful reorientation for folks who already dance West Coast, and an essential map for those who are newer. We’ll cover a primer for those new to the style and give frameworks to think about everything from foot action and timing to lead-follow roles, slot logic, and how WCS organizes space.
Class 2 – WCS Connection
We’ll explore what makes West Coast Swing feel alive between two people. These are the moments of connection that feel effortless, elastic, and mutually responsive. This class is about noticing what’s happening in your body and with your partner, and then choosing what to do from there. It’s less about “getting it right” and more about paying attention, listening through movement, and letting the dance become a conversation.
Class 3 - Special Topics
This class will build on the foundations we covered earlier in the day, and lean into what folks are curious about. We’ll pull from ideas shared in the event discussion or that come up during the workshop itself. It’s a space to connect the dots, whether that means linking patterns, exploring musicality, or deepening your understanding of how West Coast Swing moves and feels.
