Even though Finland has the biggest tango culture in Europe, it´s still quite unknown. For five years now there are FINtango Festivals also in Germany. Finnish tango differs from Argentine tango in the way that everyone can tango—no matter their dancing skills or appearance.Tango is deeply rooted in the tradition of Finnish culture and strongly anchored in the lives of the people in Finland. Especially at midnight sun, tango is a fundamental element of everyday life. Tango happens at festive occasions, in restaurants, dance halls, in pedestrian zones, even on ferryboats, but especially in summer at Lavatanssit (engl. dance on plank floor).” Our teachers will be Manfred&Anne and Almut&Jörg, of the friends of FINtango association in Hamburg, where finnish tango has quite a following and is established with monthly events. FINtango is easy-going and brings the midnight sun to Germany: With band Tangon Taikaa, DJ Benjamin Wild and finnish dancing teachers who will offer first dance aid to everyone! Free entrance, no registration necessary The Contemporary Tango Festival is dedicated to the global variety of Tango Argentino and the impact of this dance on all the international musicians, dancers, artists, performers who live and work in Berlin. Dance the world in Berlin Central Station! You are also invited just to watch and enjoy the scene as a spectator.
