Welcome to Toronto's first annual CUBA BAILA Cuban Dance weekend! Join us at Lula Music and Arts Center for a weekend full of Cuban music, dance and culture! We are bringing together some of the city's top Cuban musicians and dancers to get you moving and grooving all weekend long! A Gozarrrrrrrrr!!! Cost: $90/ all WEEKEND WORKSHOP pass, $60/Saturday Workshop pass; $30/Sunday Workshop Pass OR $20 DROP-IN/per class A PORTION OF THE PROCEEDES WILL BE DONATED TO THE SANDERO MUSIC KICKSTARTER running to help out musicians in MATANZAS, CUBA!!! WOMEN FREE BEFORE 10pm and $5 OFF FOR ALL GENTLEMEN (who pre-register for the weekend) BEFORE 10PM! *Enjoy our Cuban Cabana lounge with photos, and a special Rum Tasting session with HAVANNA CLUB @ 8pm! *Dance Lesson at 9.15pm *PERFORMANCE by City Dance Corps *Conga/Comparsa at 10pm with ARROLLANDO followed by LIVE Cuban music all night long! SATURDAY: WORKSHOPS 10-3.30pm: • 10-11:00am : Percussion class (Reimundo Sosa) • 11-11:30am : Calentamento/ Warm Up (Melissa Noventa) • 11:30pm-12:30pm : Afro-Cuban (Melissa Noventa) **with LIVE percussion** (Reimundo Sosa, Mario Allende and Phil Yetman). LUNCH BREAK • 1:30pm-2:30pm : Ritmos tradicionales (Dailyn Martinez) • 2.30-3:30pm : Afro-Timba (Damarys Montuori) SUNDAY: 11AM BRUNCH @ LULA LOUNGE ($5 off for all Cuba Baila weekend pass holders!) WORKSHOPS 2-4pm: • 2-3pm : Rueda de Casino (Dailyn Martinez) • 3-4pm : Guaguancó (Geraldo Edmon) CLOSING PARTY: featuring DANCE PERFORMANCE by the ladies of CU Dance, Shum de Salsa Performance Class ,RUMBA with Iyá Iré + the eclecitc, soul-filled sounds of the HEAVYWEIGHTS BRASS BAND and JAZZ with the mulitalented BILL KING.
