Meet our presenters, enjoy a Cuba Libre or Mojito, browse Cuban art and have a go at salsa. 4–4.15pm | ARRIVAL & CUBAN WELCOME Meet the presenters, browse a selection of Cuban art and enjoy a Cuba Libre or Mojito at the bar. 4.15–4.45pm | CUBA: HISTORY, CULTURE & REVOLUTION John Harris presents an introduction to Cuban history and culture, followed by Q&A. A former tour leader, John ran numerous salsa holidays to Cuba between 2004 and 2016. You'll hear about: Cuban revolution Guantánamo Bay The origins of salsa Rueda de Casino Cuban music & dance And more 4.45–5pm | MOJITO BREAK & CHARITY AUCTION Drinks at the bar and a charity auction featuring Cuban products. 5–6pm | SANTERÍA & OSHÚN Bella Cubana introduces Santería, one of Cuba's important religious traditions, focusing on Oshún - Orisha of love, beauty, sensuality, prosperity & abundance. The talk includes dance demonstrations inspired by Oshún and her qualities. Bella Cubana is a graduate of Havana's School of Folkloric Dance. She brings her specialist knowledge and experience of Cuban folkloric traditions. 6–6.30pm | FREE BEGINNERS' SALSA CLASS Join Frances for a fun, social introduction to Cuban salsa. No experience needed — just bring your enthusiasm! 7pm ONWARDS | SALSA PARTY 7pm | INTERMEDIATE SALSA LESSON Then social dancing until 11.00pm.
