Originally established in Oakland, California, the band has become one of the greatest Stateside practitioners of timba. SFJAZZ.org Mario Salomón, born in 1982 in Florida, Camagüey, Cuba, began his musical journey at an early age, influenced by the rich musical environment of his hometown. He studied at the Escuela para la Superación del Arte, where he honed his skills in percussion and composition.
