Learn Technique and understand how your body moves through Dance! 2 hour Workshop Saturday, Sept 24th - 11am-1pm Price: $35 Why Is Cuban Modern Technique Fun and Useful for Salsa Dancers to Learn? ​ It is a series of dance exercises and combinations, created in the 1960s in Havana, Cuba that is a fusion of Modern Dance, with many elements that help beginner and intermediate dancers improve quickly. It has a strong base of traditional Afro-Cuban dances and rhythms, as well as influences from Son, Rumba, Flamenco and Ballet. Today it is an essential training tool for dancers of all levels in Cuba, and is simply called “Clase Tecnica” or “Technique Class”. This special workshop will focus on a few important building blocks from the technique in depth, helping each student develop natural flowing movement, and improve posture, extension and lines. It will feature the undulations of the torso, the fluidity of the arms and the strength of the core that are some of the most noted elements of the style. You will leave the workshop with new ideas for the dance floor and new things to work on at home!
