About this Event
Resident Cuban dancer and musician Rafael Ferrer Noel will be teaching a fun follow-me introductory Cuban Salsa class this Saturday at 6:00pm at Porirua City Hub, Pātaka Art+Museum followed by a mini Salsa Social till 8:30pm.
No partner or previous experience required.
Cuban Salsa is a vibrant, spontaneous partner dance characterized by fluid, relaxed, fun, circular movements.
It features intricate arm-work, Afro-Cuban body isolations, and has its roots in street dancing and Rumba brought to Cuba in 1500s from Africa.
The key to learning Cuban-style Salsa is developing confident footwork, dancing in time with the music, and most importantly enjoying the music and yourself.
