Welcome & Warm-Up (10 min) Brief introduction and warm-up. Overview of cha-cha-chá, Cuban son, and salsa connections. Musical Recognition: Introduction to the clave (2-3 and 3-2) and its role in Cuban rhythms. 2. Musicality & Rhythm (20 min) Recognizing and clapping clave patterns (2-3, 3-2). Connecting steps to musical sections (intro, montuno, coro). 3. Cha-Cha-Cha Basics (20 min) Basic steps, arm styling, and hip movements. Individual and partner exercises. 4. Cuban Son Technique (20 min) Brief history and basics of dancing “on the contra-tiempo.” Practice posture and fundamental steps. 5. Salsa Fusion (35 min) Combining son and cha-cha-chá into salsa movements. Guided improvisation and creating a short routine. 6. Closing (10 min) Free dance circle to practice what was learned.
