SON also went through a musical evolution with in CUBA from the traditional SON from Santiago de Cuba in the 1900's to the time it arrived to Havana in the 1920's, come the 1950's into the 60's it went to another important part in its music with a new rhythm called SONGO, created by LOS VAN VAN (CHANGUITO king of the timbal and percussion), and in the late 80's another important moment in the music and dance with the creation of TIMBA, Outside of Cuba in the 70's SON acquire a new commercial name ''SALSA".
