Cuban Salsa Party & Special Workshops

UPDATE: Workshop times have changed slightly since the original post, see below. RCR hosts a Cuban Dance Party every 1st Saturday of the month at Lake Merritt Dance in Oakland. Now at 6:15pm, Ryan’s listening class will be devoted to clave direction and type — how to differentiate between 3:2 and 2:3 clave, as well as son vs. rumba clave, even if the clave is not being played explicitly. Then at 7:30pm we offer a 1-on-1 social dancing Salsa-Casino class (two separate levels taught in different rooms simultaneously. At all of our monthly parties we celebrate the birthdays of everyone born in that month. Contact us in advance if your birthday is in May and we’ll put you on the guest list for the party (workshops not included, see below). LMD is a PERFECT venue for dancing, featuring a smooth vintage hardwood dance floor with ample space to dance.
