Cuban Salsa & Timba Musicality Event with Yanek Revilla, Aarhus

Invitation to intermediate & advanced Cuban salsa dancers! Join the special Cuban Salsa, Timba & Musicality workshop event with Yanek Revilla from Santiago de Cuba and Diana Meldgaard & Dea Marie Kjeldsen from Aarhus. The event is a basic introduction to Cuban salsa and timba musicality with focus on how you can use the possibilities in the timba music to play and spice up your salsa with small figures, moves, body work and foot work etc. The teaching will, as an extra exclusivity, be based on a combination of salsa/ timba music and live percussion. We are super happy that we once again are able to present Yanek Revilla in Aarhus - Who is among the very best Cuban teachers and communicators of the Cuban salsa and timba music dance culture. Location and parking possibilities The events takes place at "Kedlen" at Godsbanen, Skovgaardsgade 3 in Aarhus. The entrance to Kedlen is from the Godsbanen Café just across from the bar. There are super good parking possibilities at the Goodbanen parking lot :-) 5. About Cuban Salsa & Timba music The Cuban salsa & timba music mixes all the well-known Cuban dance and music styles such as salsa, son, reggaeton, rumba and afro etc. The Timba music broke through in the late 1980s and gave a boost to the Cuban salsa couple dance, expanding the possibilities for both man and women to play with different kind of dance styles, moves and body work at the dance floor - in closed, open and free dance positions. 6. About Yanek, Diana & Dea Yanek Revilla is a super dedicated advocator to promote the Cuban salsa dance and music culture. Yanek is living in Santiago de Cuba, where he has his own dance company and dance school called Sabor DKY. In Denmark Yanek is known from teaching at the Nordic Salsa Camp at Brandbjerg Folk High School Diana Meldgaard is one of Aarhus most passionate teachers and communicators of the Cuban salsa dance and music. Diana has her own dance school in Aarhus and is a leading front figure in the Cuban salsa dance band “Little Havana”. Diana is further a well-known teacher from the Nordic Salsa Camp at the Brandbjerg Folk High School. Dea Marie Kjeldsen is among Aarhus´s youngest and most talented percussionists - with a deep love for the Cuban salsa, timba and afro music - just graduated from the "Det Jydske Musikkonservatorium" in Aarhus - Dea participated for the first time at the Nordic Salsa Camp in 2019. 7.
