Cuban Salsa Workshops with Duane Wrenn in Toronto

Duane Wrenn from Energetic Soul Dance Studios is coming to Toronto!!! We at C. U. Dance Productions are very excited to have Duane here on September 29th to teach a series of three workshops on musicality and dance! Please join us for a fantastic afternoon of learning and fun, with one of the best instructors ever! :) << HIGHLIGHTS >> - Duane will focus on three workshops. You are welcome to take one, two or all three workshops (see registration/payment links below). However, please note the material from each workshop will progressively build to the next, so taking all three will give you the full experience (plus a package rate). :) - All levels are welcome but the sessions are geared for those with a basic understanding of Salsa / Casino. At minimum, you would have taken a beginner Salsa / Casino course prior to this workshop. - Arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time to sign up, etc. - Indoor shoes only please. - The dance studio is just a few minutes north of the Bloor and Jane subway station. SCHEDULE for Saturday, September 29th, 2018 1:30pm - 2:45pm "Musicality & Drills" - Workshop A Musicality focusing on drills and intricate footwork patterns ("Energetic Salsa") that incorporate Clave. You will build on your knowledge of Clave and how dance steps (and body movement) can "fall" within it. This workshop will help further enhance your understanding of the music, dance technique, and ultimately, your partner work. 3:00pm - 4:15pm "Salsa & Casino" - Workshop B Expand on musicality and Energetic Salsa footwork patterns from Workshop #1 and transition to Energetic Soul's Casino partner work ("soUl°sa"). You will learn about principles of adaptability in partner work, and practical applications on the dance floor, whether you are dancing in Toronto or Cuba or anywhere! 4:30pm - 5:45pm "Rueda de Casino" - Workshop C Learn about dancing Rueda, Energetic Soul style! The main focus of this session is to build on the concepts from Workshops #1 and #2, and incorporate them into the Rueda.
