CUMBIA Workshop with special guest Mireille Ruiz & Rodolfo Guzman, assisted by Ava Apple 2 hour workshop followed by 30 min. practica ~PRICE $35 per person Mireille is a vibrant, giving performer & instructor - well known for Bachata, Cumbia & Salsa, and she will be joining forces with Rodolfo Guzman, and Ava Apple - owners of Symbolic Dance, both known for their clear, no-nonsense approach to teaching The origin of the word ""Cumbia" comes from the African word cumbe which means dance. Another word was derived later in the Antioquia region of Colombia called caracumbe and was coined by African slaves who worked in the mines.
