BACK IN 2020!! D-Fusion is Dallas' very own fusion dance taking place at 2155 Ballroom & Events! . D-Fusion will be sharing the studio with the Texas Classic West Coast Swing Party, Free West Coast Dance & Party Saturday 2-8-2020, one admission gets your BOTH parties! FAQs: . WHAT IS "FUSION" DANCE? 🔸Fusion is partner dance genre-bending and/ or genre-blending. Each dance is influenced by the partners' movement background, informed by the music, and guided by the partnership. WHY IS THE CLASS & SOCIAL CHEAPER THAN THE SOCIAL? 🔸Fusion is relatively small and new in Dallas. We want to encourage dancers to learn, grow, and show up early to support the venue, DJs, and instructors. WHEN'S THE LATEST I CAN JOIN THE CLASS? 🔸9:10pm I'M BROKE AS A JOKE, CAN I STILL COME? 🔸Yes! here are several things you can do: -Volunteer to work a door shift or help clean up (get in free) -Bring one large shareable item for a $5 discount -Bring two large shareable items and get in free -Large shareable items would be something like chips and salsa or queso, a bottle of wine, a 6 pack of beer or cider, a plate of cookies, a veggie tray, a cake or pie, etc. WHAT KIND OF MUSIC? 🔸Expect the music to have variety, song requests are welcome in advance. ALCOHOL? 🔸Yes and yes. The venue has some food and drink for sale as well. RULES? 🔸Use good manners and good mechanics (body mechanics, that is). 🔸If it hurts, don't do it/ speak up. 🔸When in doubt, ask questions (ie: "Would you like to lead, follow, or switch?" "Do you like being dipped?" "Are you comfortable with close embrace connection?") 🔸You may ask anyone for a dance, anyone may ask you for a dance. 🔸An invitation is not an obligation; you may decline any offer, and anyone may decline your offer--but please be kind. ATTIRE? 🔸Wear what's comfortable for you to dance in, dressy or casual, dance shoes or barefoot. Dress and accessorize in a manner that accommodates your dance style. Love fast turns? Avoid single-tail hair braids. Wanna get into partnered acro or contact improv? Stretchy athletic wear is your friend, dangly jewelry is your annoying great aunt. Want to dance with more formality? Dress more formally-- that's cool too! OTHER HELPFUL TIPS? 🔸If you don't know your dance partner, ask about their dance background to see if you have any commonalities. Maybe it's not even dance-- maybe you both practice martial arts or like rock climbing. 🔸If you're getting tired of the type of music being played, tell the DJ, and be specific about what you want to hear. 🔸The venue has A/C and fans, but many dancers will bring spare shirts and deoderant 🔸Bring a distinctive cup/ water bottle from home so it doesn't get confused with someone else's OTHER QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS?
