It is with such young passion and early conviction that Nique went from standing on a chair to scratch Sesame Street records on his dad’s stereo system to opening for headliners like Fat Joe, Bobby Valentino, Juelz Santana, Teairra Marie and T.I. Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, Dominican-American Nique grew up on his older brother’s Hip-Hop and the sounds of his parents classic Merengue; His uncle Felix was a trombone player for Wilfrido Vargas. Nique has DJed at New York City venues such as The Park, Bounce, Sin City and Home Sweet Home. He has hosted a radio show at 88.7FM WARY in Valhalla, NY. As a roster member of Scratch Events, Nique has played in NYC’s biggest retail chains from Saks Fifth Ave to Sephora. He currently holds a residency as host of ONTHELO at Fat Buddha in the East Village of NYC. About Kid Chalupa: Luis Enrique Bocanegra aka Kid Chalupa: https://soundcloud.com/kid_chalupa/kid-chalupa-el-tundete A New York City DJ by trade, CHICAGO DJ bred, with styles raging from Hip Hop to all Latinx Music to Dance Music. Growing up going to Peru every other summer has had a big influence on Chalupa. You will always hear a classic throwback or 2, along with merengue, latino house, perreo, some dembow, dancehall and soulful tropical remixes of current hits, including his own edits and remixes. Chalupa has various residencies around NYC. Namely 4 years throwing a party named Tuesbooty at Pianos (every Tuesday), Thursdays at Los Feliz and Saturdays for the native Latinx’s at Yuca Bar.
