We had a good time at the Kizomba Pop-Up last month. Several people asked, when's the next kizomba event!? As you know, on Third Fridays Numinus LIVE brings you Bachata Fixation. This month, we’re mixing it up bit in the spirit of "we need more kizomba!" and in collaboration with RDU Zouk’s Weekender. We’re kicking the weekend off at Honeysuckle with a Two Room Social: Room 1: Pop, R&B, Electronic, Ghetto Zouk, and Afrobeats! Room 2: Kizomba, Konpa, Afrobeats, Tarraxinha, and Semba! And because we’re skipping Bachata Fixation this time, we’ll throw in a few bachatas in both rooms. The Triangle’s kizomba and b-zouk scenes continue to grow. Brazilian zouk and kizomba, though two entirely different dances, have a couple things in common. They both grew out of lusophone cultures, and they both owe much of their musical roots to the influence of Caribbean Zouk. And so, there’s good overlap in the styles of music that are both “kizzable” and “zoukable.” So, we’re excited to dance the night away with both. Dance kiz all night in the Kizomba Room. Dance b-zouk all night in the Zouk Room. Bounce back and forth between both rooms. OR… If you’re feeling creative and fusiony, dance *Kiz-Zouk* in either room!
