About this Event

Dance Alchemy (usually) happens the 4th Saturday of the month. 9PM-10PM ~ Intro lesson ~ "Laws of Motion in Dance" with Kyle FitzGerald: How do you use your body to fill time and space? In this class, we'll be tackling fundamental principles of using momentum to connect with our partners. Creating systems of dance based on the physics of our bodies, promotion the "cause and effect" relationship of dance. Instructor Bio: Kyle grew up surrounded by dance. Being raised in a ballroom studio owned by his father, he spent his days taking classes in Ballroom, Latin, jazz, swing and ballet. In 2010 he competed in his first West Coast Swing competition and took first place in the newcomer division, from there the rest is history. Since then Kyle has taken the Swing world by storm, competing and taking championships across the US and Canada. Known for his complex and effortlessly smooth footwork, he takes pride in expressing his dance whenever he is on the floor. He believes in living life to the fullest, and having no regrets. 10PM-LATE ~ Dance dance dance. Where: Lindy Hop Revolution - 374 Dupont St. Just a few minutes from the Dupont Subway Station. It's a night of amazing music with people from a mix of different dance backgrounds. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience. If you have ever led or followed in partnered dance before, you’ve already got the tools you need. If not, come see what it's all about ;) Zoukers, Bluesers, Swingers (you know what we mean), Improvers, Contemporaries, Salseros, Kizombies, Tangueros, Hustlers, ALL you dance babes - this is a space for us to come together and play. Join the fun, feel the music, connect with your partner(s) and enjoy discovering just how much awesome you can bring to the the dance floor. Curious about the music? Expect to hear danceable tunes that you won't likely hear at other partner dance events. Some things you might hear: Electronica (glitch-hop, chillstep, electropop, electrofunk, indietronica, trip-hop, dubstep and too many others to name!) pop, RnB, acoustic, soul, lyrical, funk, hip-hop, blues and definitely more. From upbeat and fun to moody and juicy. ~ The space: This is a dance studio :) there is tap water and we've usually got some snacks kickin around. There is no bar. Bring your own water bottle to fill. ~ Your feet: No outdoor shoes on the dance floor. Most people dance in flats or socks :) Whatever makes you happy and keeps the floor happy too. ~ This is an inclusive space ♥ ……………...
