EDDY MONTEZ landing us home… $20 at the door See you on the dance floor! :: NOTEIK Alchemical beat maker, DJ and instrumentalist, Noetik, brings a culture fused in deep, lush, break beat atmosphere. Painting landscapes with rich sonic tones and textures of fine recordings with a mixture of percussive originality. Influenced through indigenous futurism, tribal bass, grime, neo soul and turntablism, he invokes a unique and hypnotic experience while delivering deep alchemical sound waves to the dance floor. :: WREN LAFEET Wren is an embodiment guide committed to practices that encourage living in right-relationship. A trained dancer, theater worker, mindfulness facilitator and recovery counselor, Wren shares bodymind-based practices synthesized from social partner dance, mindfulness, Taoism, the Gene Keys, waterways and relating with other humans that support interpersonal connection, holistic wellness and positive change. Wren is a TEDx speaker, featured author in "ReInhabiting the Village", certified Attunement Therapy practitioner and HeartMath certified trauma sensitive educator. He holds a BA in Drama and Dance and began dancing in 1998 at the height of the swing dance revival. He immediately began fusing dance styles, particularly swing, hip hop and contemporary movement. Blues / fusion became his principle practice in 2005, and he began weaving his practice, Cocréa, with his former partner, Antje Schaefer, in 2013. A devotee of the Gene Keys since 2013, he serves community coherence and the cultivation of personal genius as a Gene Keys Guide. A BIT ABOUT THE CLASS! Body Talk: Fun with Contrast Prepping for the SoulSpace hosted series starting June 15th, come get a flavor for Urban Contemporary. Wren will share some practices drawn from this body of work that give us access to a much broader range of movements. Move quickly between lyrical and percussive, from floor to flight, and learn to listen to the phrases and changes in the music that cue it all.Jennifer Holland is a masterful movement therapist and sensual embodiment expert. This Sunday she will guide us through a sweet, soft, and sensual warm up, followed by some floor work and twerk basics. Come slither and roll and toss some booty with us! :: EDDY MONTEZ Eddy Montez crafts dynamic and mystifying soundscapes that feature a stunning blend of cultural and modern acoustic instruments including Rav Vast hand pans, Saxo-Didge didgeridoos, Native American style flutes, gongs, frame drums, rainsticks, chimes, bells, singing bowls, polyphonic vocal toning and more. Every journey is curated to defy expectations and to transport listeners into another world through sound and vibration. Eddy has brought his acclaimed sound bath experience to a host of venues including Village Dance Davis, Midtown Ecstatic Dance, Ritual Wellness House, Yoga Moves Us, Dance Church NC, Miners Foundry Sweets Ballroom and SoulPlay festival.
