Dance Factory Swing! + Intermediate Lindy Hop Workshop

Swing Time and The Dance Factory are joining forces to bring you the ultimate weekend social: Saturday Swing! Whether you’re a seasoned "pro" or have two left feet, this is the place to be. We’re starting 2026 with high energy, great music, and even better company. Come see why Swing Time has been the heart of Florida's swing scene since 2000! 🗓️ THE DETAILS WHEN: Saturday, February 7th, 2026 WHERE: The Dance Factory, Tampa (Park and enter next to Maggiano's; once inside take your first right to find The Dance Factory.) 7:00pm-8:30pm: Intermediate Lindy Hop Workshop 8:30pm–9:00pm: Intro Swing Dance Lesson 9:00pm– 12:00: Social Dancing Admission is $12 for the intro lesson and dance (no partner and no prior experience needed). Get tickets at the door. Admission is $25 for the Intermediate Lindy Hop Workshop, which also gets you into the dance. Pay at the door (please arrive 15 minutes early to register). Intermediate Lindy Hop Workshop DESCRIPTION Level up your Lindy Hop! Utilizing classic swing dance routines from the original Lindy Hoppers, you'll learn some snazzy moves and leave with plenty of material to practice and a better understanding of what makes this dance tick. You'll also gain better technique, pulse, improvisation, and connection with your partner. Please arrive early to register and take the workshop (doors open 6:40pm). Intermediate Lindy Hop Workshop PREREQUISITES Those taking the workshop need to be comfortable dancing the fundamentals of Swing and Lindy Hop. This includes 6-count and 8-count footwork and patterns/moves including Swing Out, Lindy Circle, and Charleston. Intermediate Lindy Hop Workshop INSTRUCTOR: Emma McAllister Emma encountered Lindy Hop in 2016 and has been hooked ever since! She’s danced across the globe in Turkey, Greece, Poland, England, and all across the USA, competing at Jumpin’ at Istanbul, Retro Weekend (Warsaw), Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown (New Orleans), Uptown Swingout (Minneapolis), Portland Lindy Exchange, Camp Jitterbug (Seattle) and Stormy Weather Jazz Fest (Seattle). Emma has taught at venues in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Port Townsend, Seattle, Tacoma, and Los Angeles. Her teaching emphasizes solid rhythmic foundations, playful improvisation, and solo-jazz-infused musicality. She loves incorporating the stories of the original creators of this dance, and firmly believes anyone can learn! 🕺 Intro Swing Dance Lesson INSTRUCTOR Sam We are thrilled to have Sam, a true pioneer of the Tampa Bay swing scene, leading the way. With over 20 years of experience and having taught tens of thousands of dancers, Sam is an expert in the entire repertoire—from Lindy Hop and Balboa to Charleston and Blues. Sam has studied under legends like Frankie Manning and Norma Miller, bringing a wealth of history and improvisation to every class.
