About this Event

Three fun, relaxed dance classes to raise money to sponsor the education of girls in poverty into Bikema Academic Centre in Malawi, Africa The Bikema Academic Centre is located in the rural sub-urban area in Lilongwe district in Malawi. It is a co-education centre that offers both primary and secondary education. Malawi is one of the most poorest countries in the world, with only 35% of children completing primary school. In addition, up to 1 in 3 girls are forced into early child marriage by the age of 18, because of this the school empowers students to fulfill their potential by providing quality education to those living in extreme poverty. Outside of the regular school curriculum, students also receive lessons in Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Coding and Mentorship to alleviate them from social issues such as child marriage, poverty and gender- based discrimination. They empower girls to be leaders of their lives by providing them equal access to education, safe facilities, learning resources and programs to further develop their skills and confidence. The school began in April 2015, with 20 students but now there are 200 students enrolled. Although the school offers their own scholarships, some children still miss out on the opportunity to continue learning and a bright future. We want to help! We are running three amazing dance classes, taught by three passionate teachers to raise money to support Bikema Academic Centre in Malawi, Africa. For every full pass you purchase we will be able fund the education of one child into school for one whole term.
