Od 8 lat uczy somatyki i contact improvisation na międzynarodowej scenie. Uczył się Taichi u mistrza Zhou ZhongFu (周中福) w Chinach, trenował teatr fizyczny w Korei Południowej z grupą teatralną Georipae oraz zgłębiał Butoh z japońskim mistrzem Katsura Kan (桂勘). Prowadził warsztaty i laboratoria w Rosji, Japonii, USA, Kolumbii, Tajlandii, Korei Południowej i przez wiele lat w Chinach, gdzie współtworzył pierwszą społeczność CI w mieście Hangzhou. Tworzy własne spektakle, a także współtworzył improwizowane występy z Contact HZ w Chinach. Występował również w spektaklach tanecznych i teatralnych grupy The ASK z Szanghaju, Teatre Animal z Hiszpanii oraz Ingrid Olterman Dans ze Szwecji. Brał udział w India Art Fair w New Delhi, Myriang Village Theater w Korei Południowej, National Grand Theater w Pekinie oraz Power Station of Art podczas Shanghai Art Biennial. 𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗥𝗔 𝗪𝗨𝗭𝗬𝗞 Alexandra Wuzyk to multidyscyplinarna artystka urodzona i wychowana w RPA. Initiated more than 20 years ago, the technique Material For the Spine of Steve Paxton concentrates accumulated knowledges from his background—from the walk study to dancer experience, from Contact Improvisation exploration to Aikido practice. “MATERIAL FOR THE SPINE can be seen as a system for exploring the interior and exterior muscles of the back. It aims to bring the light of consciousness to the dark side of the body, that is the side not much self seen, often an omitted element in a dancer self-definition. (…) I wanted to bring to consciousness the inner sensations, the moments when usage reveals operations of the skeleton, the muscular connections available between pelvis and finger tips and the soft energetic support of leverage which I take to be the eastern concept of qi or ki. With 8 years of experience teaching Somatics and Contact Improvisation internationally. Learned Taichi with the master Zhou ZhongFu (周中福) in China, trained Physical Theater in South Korea with the Theater Troupe Georipae and learned Butoh with the Japanese master Katsura Kan (桂勘). He has lead Workshops and Laboratories in Russia, Japan, United States, Colombia, Thailand, South Korea, and for many years, in China, where co-created the first CI community in the city of Hangzhou. He performs his own pieces, and co-created Improvisation Performances in collaboration with Contact HZ, in China. He has performed as well, dance and theater pieces created by The ASK from Shanghai, the Theater Troupe Teatre Animal from Spain and the Dance Company Ingrid Olterman Dans from Sweden. 𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗥𝗔 𝗪𝗨𝗭𝗬𝗞 Alexandra Wuzyk is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in South Africa. She studied Fine Art at LUCA School of Arts in Belgium, where her work focused on interactive performances, inviting spectators into active and embodied roles. She first encountered contact improvisation in 2020 and fell in love with the practice as an embodied education for life. She has been actively practicing and studying since then, mostly with with 𝑻𝑶𝑾𝑨𝑹𝑫𝑺: 𝑪𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅. She believes in CI as a space that transcends cultural barriers and opens much needed states of listening. Her artistic work includes painting, film, poetry and performance. She considers states of improvisation as the birthspace of creative practice, allowing natural rhythm and simple truth to reveal itself.
