Dance improvisation workshop - Play, move, connect Movement is a human need, a gift available for everyone. It's our most fundamental way of communicating, with people and with the world around us. In this workshop we'll connect to that place within us that enjoys movement. We'll come in touch with our naturally expressive, sensing, communicative body. Improvisation is natural, it's that place within us that doesn't need a reason to move - movement is its basic language. To help it grow, we will create a relaxed, playful environment, and use simple exercises which lead us, step by step, into what we *feel like* doing, our authentic desires, right here, right now. When we're there, movement comes, expression comes, creativity comes, poetry comes, by itself. No is background necessary. You don't have to be "in shape", and you don't need to "know" how to "dance" - there's no such thing; There's only movement and your own journey, enjoyment, and exploration. If you're curious about movement, about communicating with others, about being a fully expressive human being - then it's for you. This is a two-workshop series. In the first one we'll mainly focus on solos and a bit of duets. In the second we'll try out moving in a group (dates to be published). You can either come to one of the workshops, or both *** Who is the teacher? *** Nimrod Tom Oren has been teaching movement, meditation, and experiential therapy for over 15 years. He has travelled the world looking for practices that help people develop, heal and transform. He believes playfulness is an essential part of who we are, and is fascinated by dance, music and art as a way to touch something which the normal mind cannot see.
