Dance Lab BK :: Contact Improv + Ecstatic Dance :: October 13th

Join us for our October edition of Dance Lab! 💫 The first part of the night will be a guided movement class followed by a freeform Ecstatic Dance with a DJ, ending with a closing sound meditation. We are very blessed to welcome Moti Zemelman, a masterful teacher in Contact Improvisation, who will lead the warmup. This will be followed by a Live Ecstatic Dance set with the incredible duo Cosmal. Contact Improvisation is a partner dance form based on the physical principles of touch, momentum, shared weight, and most quintessentially - following a shared point of contact. It explores the skills of falling, rolling, counterbalance, lifting using minimal effort, how to make ourselves light when being lifted, centering and breathing techniques, and responsiveness to our partners and surroundings. To follow, Cosmal will play a live set for the Ecstatic Dance.
