Dance Lab :: MOVEMENT MEDICINE :: The Green Gym

Join us on Friday February 18th for a Dance Lab gathering indoors at a gorgeous dance studio in the heart of Bushwick. Let's MOVE and CONNECT and SWEAT together! We'll start with a guided movement class with Annika Rhea followed by an Ecstatic Dance DJ set with Omar Aena and ending with a sound meditation + closing circle. ~ About the class: Expressive Flow This guided class is built to explore the body as a creative vessel with a focus on the inner experience. Expressive Flow is an improvisational class that begins with somatic stretching (intuitive stretching) and evolves into a movement practice that allows attendees to deepen their relationship with their body in motion and its relation to the surrounding space. This practice helps to remove blockages, induce body awareness, and unlock the infinite potential of human movement. Come move, play, explore and find your flow. ~ About DJ Omar Aena Omar Aena is a world music DJ, conscious dance facilitator and event producer based in NYC. He is the founder of Dance Lab, a Brooklyn-based community that explores dance as a form of somatic therapy. He has hosted many events around the world, including retreats and group trips that immerse in sacred music cultures. His mission is to create transformational experiences through music and dance for people from all walks of life. As a DJ he mixes together traditional music of the past with electronic music of the present, with a particular focus on songs from his middle-eastern heritage.
