About this Event

Come Join the movement on FRIDAY NIGHT 3.31 ! We are back at it again this Friday Night ! The weather is getting warmer, which means our bodies are even more ready to move and groove, sweat, and let it all out on the dance floor... AND guess what .... We have something really special planned for this evenings dance..... Did someone say ... Cacao Ceremony ? (be sure to pre-order at check out ) .•*º Meet our DJ for this Friday's dance :: Nash Atkins ( The Deeper Song ) is a lifelong student of music, community, vibration, and healing, starting his musical journey at the age of 7. For the past 6 years in Western Massachusetts, Nash has been intricately weaving experiences which are both introspective, clearing, and energizing. Nash DJ’s, performs live music, and facilitates Ecstatic Dance, fostering ritual dance and communal connection. In one dance, threads are woven of world music and paying deep homage to folk/indigenous traditions, while integrating contemporary styles of electronic bass music, and tribal trance styles. Eclectic rhythms, harmonies and familiar tunes form a possibility for complex and metamorphic embodiment , that brings dancers through a dynamic enlightening landscape which illuminates the vast living universe we inhabit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ But first.... Warm Up your body, mind, and spirit with Dancestors Here is a message from them ! ... .•* Hello Philadelphia! James , Nash and the Philly crew are excited and blessed to bring you Dance Medicine Philly X Dancestors . Dancestors is an ode to our Ancestors, our relatives, who share this world with us; the lineages that have birthed us through time. This experience is born out of the need for ritual dance, connection, prayer, and collective transmutation. We will take time to drop in, pray, meditate, and sing together with the spirit of cacao and facilitator James Bird, then moving into a building dance journey. The DJed mix (by DJ Father Otter) will be a foray into inspirational music from around the world that invokes connection to unfamiliar, dormant, or alienated parts of the self, to bring us into emotional, physical, and spiritual coherence. Dancing in cohesion with our Ancestors and the self can invoke powerful release and transformation. After getting into the dance trance , the journey will culminate with a powerful live drumming session, leading us upward, and outward, cultivating a poignant intentional vibration together. A lilting energizing story songscape by James Bird and Nash Atkins will wrap you in its warm embrace to close the journey of this chapter. Prepare to be opened, interwoven, and healed through the night of powerful rejuvenation. An incredibly curated seasonal altar will be offered to sit with during the dance. NOTE:: $5 for cacao (you may still join the ceremony without drinking) *** Bring a hand drum to join the communal drumming which will bring us into a frenzied climax! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ .... Here is a little bit about James Bird James Bird is a facilitator, poet and multi-instrumentalist musician hailing from Shelburne Falls, MA.
