To our Dance Medicine Family! Join us for our epic new spot in Phily's Fairmont Park, Thomas Mansion, on Sunday, May 16th, 2021!!! If you haven't experienced the serene nature of Philadelphia's Fairmont Park, you are in for a treat of beauty and a magical afternoon and evening... Featuring our local Philly musical artist, DJ NAH MEAN?, bringing the vibes to unite in our most beloved, ancient connection with ourselves, our community and the Earth...to DANCE! We will be warming up for our dance with EL RASAQ! Rasaq Lawal has revolutionized the world of dance, mindfulness & fitness through his innovative mix of African culture, eclectic music, fitness and fun. Don't miss this awesome ecstatic dance warm up! We're so happy to welcome Rasaq to lead up getting ready to dance. Sound healing: Bret Cohen (Princeton University, Echo 13 pod, Sun Ra Arkestra) will share his beloved sound healing practice with us. Deep repetitive, cathartic sounds of wordless throat singing and percussion to soothe, nourish and inspire... And for your delight, Mooncraft Elixir Bar will be serving refreshing elixirs and nourishing snacks! COVID protocols: We recognize that everyone is at a different opinion and level of comfort with their approach to covid and we want to create a safe experiecne for all. In this regard, we will be giving out colored wrist bands so it's clear to the other dancers what level of social distancing you are comfortable with. Green is “ok at any distance”, yellow is “please ask first”, and red is “please respect my need for social distancing.” If you want to make it even more clear to your fellow attendees, you could wear the color distancing your seeking. Grab a green tshirt, or a yellow hat.... you get the point. What a strange, unexpected year it has been. Now that the weather is warming and we can gather outside more safely, we’re excited to begin regular events again. For now, the events are going to be outside and following this protocol for our highest good involved. With all this said, we are so so thankful to have the opportunity to gather and dance together again. What a joy it will be to move and enjoy the company of people and dance collectively!!! WoW! its gonna feel so great! Schedule for the Event: 2:45pm - Arrival 3:00pm - 3:55pm Warm-up with EL Rasaq 4-6pm - LIVE DJ Ecstatic Dancing with DJ Nah Mean? 6-6:30pm - Sound Bath experience - with TBA 6:30 - Clean up, fruit share and socializing ... ✨✨✨✨✨✨ We collectively come alive for Ecstatic dance; turning a quiet fall afternoon into an electric, grounding, energetic, life-giving experience. As we dance, there will be blankets and an alter set out in a lounge area for resting, reflection and relaxation; as well as, the Mooncraft Elixir Bar for energizing beverages and nourishing snacks. Afterwards, we’ll have a short closing circle and then invite everyone to eat some freshly prepared fruits and snacks as we say goodbye. This is a dance as you wish, safe space, absolutely everyone is welcome event. We are substance and alcohol free. We encourage no talking on the dance floor while we are in the flow of the event. This is organized by a group of dance and movement enthusiasts who want to build community through dance and appreciation for healthy living. If you feel called to participate and help out in any way we welcome you (send us a message of inquiry). Volunteers are greatly appreciated. Please invite your friends. This community and experience fosters both indivdual and collective growth. Encourage your friends to join us as we witness our own transformations. Some things to consider bringing: Water bottle, yoga mat, something warm to cover with for the sound healing, drums/rattles, flow toys like hula hoops, juggling balls and poi. Tickets Early Bird (only 10!! tickets available) - $15 then it's...... Regular advance tickets - $20 (Available until 4:45pm on the day of the dance) At the door price - $30 (available online and at the door, cash) Come whenever you can arrive. If you need to come in late or leave early, this is ok. Kids of all ages are welcome too!! Guidelines: 1. Dance however you wish 2. No talking on the dance floor 3. Respect the space 4. No alcohol, no shoes (unless foot protection is necessary) Refund Policies: 1. If the event is cancelled because of rain or another weather related issues, we can issue you a full refund for your ticket price or you can transfer the ticket to the next subsequent event and use it then. 2. If the event is cancelled due to a covid-19 related issue: The virus is experiencing a 4th wave in our region and local authorities are preventing us from hosting, we will issue you a full refund for your ticket price. 3. If you are experiencing symptoms, have been exposed to, or have tested positive for covid-19 we will issue you a full refund.
