Dance Medicine Philly's Ecstatic Dance Is Sunday February 2nd

Announcing the February 2nd Dance Medicine Philly Ecstatic dance! We are returning to the Irish Center in Mt. Airy for this dance! This is going to be so amazing. Two DJs! 3 hours plus of Dancing, Yoga warm-up & enchanting Sound Bath.. Here are the details! Schedule for the Event: EVENT SCHEDULE 4:45pm-5:00pm // Arrival 5:00pm-6pm // Warm-up with Adnan Shamsi 6:00-7:30pm // Ecstatic Dance with DJ JourneyWeaver 7:30pm-9:00pm // Ecstatic Dance with DJ Kaellum 9:00-9:20pm // Sound Bath by Joy Okoye 9:20pm // Closing Circle, Fruit share, Clean-up & Good-bye (Come whenever you can arrive. If you need to come in late or leave early this is ok. Kids of all ages welcome too!!) This is such a Bangin' lineup! DJ Kaellum and DJ JourneyWeaver are two of our favorite DJs! Some of you might remember DJ JourneyWeaver from the Dance Medicine Campout. Coming all the way from Boston to rock the dance floor, DJ JourneyWeaver has the beats to make you move! She is the founder and space holder for the Massachusetts Ecstatic Dance scene and we so fortunate that she'll be joining us! DJ Kaellum is a hot commodity these days, as he has been making appearances in Ecstatic dance scenes all over the country. We're thrilled to have him back to his Philly hometown community to spin some magic on the 1s and 2s. To open the night, we're excited to welcome the founder of Ecstatic Dance Princeton, Adnan Shamsi. Adnan will guide us through a warm up inspired by his teaching aerial, yoga and silly dance to little kids and adult kids. He is a founder of Naked Feet Productions and currently teaches at ANEW Life Yoga Pennington, ASCEND Hot Fitness Hillsborough, The Princeton Yurt, and Princeton Integral Yoga Community Center. Closing the night with the Sound Bath, we are also welcoming from the Princeton Ecstatic Dance Community co-founder, Joy Okoye. Joy is a spiritual intuitive who facilitates innovative, creative, and conscious expanding experiences using movement, breath, and divinely channeled sound. She is a Certified JourneyDance™ Facilitator trained in Toni Bergins Embodied Transformation Method™, RYT 500 Integral Yoga Teacher, and Integrative Wellness Coach. With her Improvised vocalizations and enchanting voice, these vibrations will assist us to relax and close the experience. ** Be sure to enjoy the experience on our very own 20ft by 25ft large foam gym mat! ** Be sure to visit the Mooncraft Elixir Bar for some high energy food and drink. We collectively come alive for Ecstatic dance; turning a quiet Sunday evening into an electric, grounding, energetic, life giving experience. As we dance, there will be blankets and an alter set out in a lounge area for resting, reflection and relaxation as well as a water cooler for hydrating. Afterwards, we’ll have a short closing circle and then invite everyone to eat some freshly prepared fruits and snacks as we say goodbye. . This is a dance as you wish, safe space, absolutely everyone is welcome event. We are substance and alcohol free. We encourage no talking on the dance floor while we are in the flow of the event. This is organized by a group of dance and movement enthusiasts who want to build community through dance and appreciation for healthy living. Some things to consider bringing: Water bottle, yoga mat, something warm to cover with for the sound healing, drums/rattles, flow toys like hula hoops, juggling balls and poi.
