If lot is full street parking is free.
For those new to this form of dance:
Our dances are 90 minutes of improvisational unstructured dance to recorded music designed to create a deep free experience. There is no particular step or skill needed, just a chance to move the body and free the mind. People should abstain from conversation during the dance. Chairs will be there and one need not exert beyond your level of comfort and ability.
These types of dances occur internationally and were largely inspired by the late Gabrielle Roth and her 5 Rhythms concept (https://www.5rhythms.com/ ), though it will be up to the designer of each set and the dancers how strictly they wish to adhere to 5 Rhythms concepts. It can be a useful model.
We have a resource in my friend and member of Eno Friend's Meeting, Richard Jerram, who will be having a Forum sponsored by Eno Friends the day after this dance, May 3 on the Movement Meditation Practice of 5Rhythms at Hillsborough United Methodist 401 Tryon St. from 4:30-6:00 PM. All are welcome. The forum will be in the Fellowship Hall behind the church and the parking lot entrance for the hall is on Wake St. just off Tryon.
