Dance Temple July 26~ RISE & SHINE! With DJ Driem

You are warmly invited to Dance Temple at beautiful Innisfree Farm this week for RISE & SHINE with DJ Driem. We are in the peak of Summer, so this theme was chosen to reflect a spirit of celebration and exuberance! Come dance and play with us; all are welcome and your self expression is celebrated! Special guest this week on hand drums is Rainbow Portal (Éric Boucher)!! Expect DJ Driem & Rainbow Portal to offer their latest discoveries in global groove and world dance music, plus some of his originals, with live flute, guitar, and charango. Also expect a traditional ecstatic dance wave starting mellow, rising to a crescendo and then easing down to a gentle landing. All the music shared will be human made (no AI). $20 - $25 sliding scale: no one turned away due to lack of funds. As always; expect a safe and inclusive space for self expression! To meet the diverse needs of our dancers and to honour this beautiful land and it’s stewards we have created special "family agreements": OPTION 1 - DANCING WITH YOUR KIDS - Parents are responsible for children at all times (*unless the children join the children’s program, ages 6 to 12) - Children must remain with their parents throughout the dance - Trees and plants are to be respected and not damaged, i.e. no picking berries, breaking branches or climbing trees - The general Dance Temple agreements apply to children as well OPTION 2 - JOIN THE SUPERVISED KIDS PROGRAM: - The children’s program is offered by Calia Gregory. She offers a playful and creative exploration through arts and crafts outdoors on the farm. - The program runs 10:30AM to 12:15PM for all children between the ages of 6 and 12. - Suggested donation to cover childcare cost is $5-10 (No one turned away for lack of funds.) ::DRIEM:: Driem (Aaron Handford) is a producer of organic electronica, deep house & downtempo bass whose festival credits include Burning Man, Pachena Bay, Valhalla Fest, Burn In The Forest, Otherworld, & SubLunar and releases on the Visionary Shamanics and Lump Records label. ::LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:: I respectfully acknowledge that the land we gather on is on the Unceded Traditional Territory of the K’ómoks First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land. ::DANCE TEMPLE AGREEMENTS:: In this space we collectively agree to: *Develop compassion, awareness, acceptance *Deepen into a body-centred meditation *No talking on the dance floor *No cellphones *No instruments *No photography *No drugs, alcohol, or other intoxicants. *Tops to be worn throughout the dance and around the property for all gender expressions, bikini top is the minimum coverage requested by the landowners, please be respectful of this boundary. ::ON BOUNDARIES & TOUCH:: We recognize that touch and physical proximity can mean different things to different people. In this space we practice self-awareness of our own bodies, and the ways in which we engage with the moving bodies of others. We define consent as freely given, enthusiastic agreement for mutual participation. WHEN APPROACHING OTHERS: *Make no assumptions! Look for a yes, look for eye contact *Respect any no (including when someone is ignoring you or moves away from you) *Respect a Solo Dancer’s right to their space. * Do not engage in physical touch without clear consent. This is a transformational space for dance, healing, prayer, laughter, joy, sadness and everything in between.
