Dance Temple June 28 ~ LAKESIDE! Where the Wild Things Are

We are at Comox Lake this week! (Dam side; NOT the Cumberland side) You are warmly invited to Dance Temple special edition: Where the Wild Things Are - Lakeside Dance! $20 - $25 sliding scale: no one turned away due to lack of funds. This week we are unable to use Innisfree Farm because of an event. SPECIAL LOCATION! This Sunday we will be holding Dance Temple on the beach of Comox Lake, in the eco-reserve on the Courtenay side of the lake. Here is a Google map link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/QuUcbJmPKNZsLn5n8 Directions: Coming from Courtenay: - Drive all the way up Lake Trail road until you come to Comox Lake Rd. Turn left onto Comox Lake Road and follow it all the way to the lake (the road turns to gravel) and over the bridge. Drive across the bridge and another 400 feet (or so). You will see cars parked at the side of the gravel road. A Dance Tender wearing an orange vest will give you directions to walk in. We will dance on the lakeside beach, it's about a 6 minute walk from the roadside. Accessibility: Unfortunately, accessibility is challenging for this location. If you are in a wheelchair or have mobility issues, please DM Aaron Handford and he will arrange help. SAFETY!!!!: We will be dancing in the wilderness on the beach. The ground is uneven and there are roots and tripping hazards. Please be careful and practice radical responsibility for your own safety. Bring extra water!!! And a blanket! Bring a picnic and a swimsuit to swim afterwards! Please note that there are no out houses at the dance area, but you are welcome to water the forest. Imagine dancing on the beach of Comox lake with the Comox Glacier serving as a stunning backdrop! DJ Driem (Aaron) is excited to offer Dance Temple this week in the wilderness: a juicy, earthy, energetic dance flow to celebrate Summer. Driem will be sharing his latest musical creations and also playing some flute and perhaps some guitar. Expect a traditional ecstatic dance "arc" going from meditative and gentle, then into intense and fiery, then to gentle again! As always; expect a safe and inclusive space for self expression!
