Dance ~ Temple Rebirth A barefoot community dance jam. All bodies welcome. All communities, come as you are. Dance ~ Temple is a space for reconnecting with yourself and others through movement. It invites you to pause, listen to your body, and explore freedom of expression in a safe, consensual way. Whether you choose to dance alone, with a partner, alongside friends, or in shared unity with everyone present, the experience is about honoring presence, connection, and the joy of simply moving. Venue: Vinnie's Jump & Jive Address: 635 Main St, Middletown, CT 06457 Parking: Free parking on Main Street. Also, there is a parking lot behind the building (Community Health Center’s 19 Grand Street Parking lot). Attire: Dress comfortably & barefooted! *Bonus: Halloween attire encouraged but not required. Movement Facilitators: Amy Dubenetsky has been on the dance scene since 2008. As a professional hoop dancer and teacher, Amy performed at various locations in Boston & Denver. Upon returning to CT in 2016, Amy began facilitating Ecstatic Dances as a DJ and movement facilitator. Amy is a self-proclaimed movement enthusiast as she practices bodywork, breathwork, and a variety of movement meditations. Doug Pouliot has been dancing contact improv, tango and barefoot partner dancing since the 1990's. He also performed acrobatic lindyhop with the Kamikaze Jitterbugs. He is also a certified cuddle party facilitator. Live music by Cosmic Heartbeat: Cosmic Heartbeat is a groove-oriented sonic exploration unit, crafting unique danceable sounds inspired by world music. Rooted in attunement with one another, with their audiences and with the universe, they perform at festivals, parks, galleries, for dance, yoga, film, and sound sessions. The band features Kalidasa Joseph Getter on woodwinds, electronics and more, Craig Norton on hand pan, drums and percussion, and Andrew Mark Prue on various and sundry drums and percussion. Weaving their voices and instruments into intricate textures, the band aims to free your mind, open your heart, and get your body moving. Kalidasa Joseph Getter is a creative world musician, composer and teacher, steeped in kirtan, Javanese gamelan, bamboo flute of South India, experimental music, Jazz, and music for dance, theater, sound mediations, yoga, and the circus arts. Craig Norton is a self-employed creative with decades of experience as a percussionist, photographer, documentary filmmaker and master teaching artist. He specializes in drumming for wellness and integrating social emotional learning into all that he teaches. He is a certified forest therapy guide. Andrew Prue has been playing percussion, building drums, and leading drum circles for decades. His sonic resonances brings healing, joy, and flow to every event.
