Dance to live music *Saturday* with Careless Cats

First time on a Saturday!!! Do you enjoy dancing to live music? We hope you do, because this is how Lindy Hop was born - in the big ballrooms of Harlem in the 30s. We want to help bringing this spirit back to life, which is why we are now organizing a party with live music once a month with our local hero bands from Berlin - and occasionally with a popular Swing orchestra from abroad. The Berlin based band „Careless Cats“ is formed by talented musicians of different backgrounds and musical styles, sharing the desire for hot New Orleans rooted Jazz music and its improvisational power. When singer Nina Thaler started swing dancing, she rediscovered her love for traditional Jazz. The combination of both – playing this passionate music and realizing the driving power to move to it – made both even more valuable for her. It didn't take long after her first dancing lessons, until she set up the band „Careless Cats“. They started to play in small venues mainly for dancers and moved on to play festivals and festivities of any kind. The „Careless Cats“ mostly play music of the early 1920s and 30s. For dancing feet as well as for listeners the „Careless Cats“ carry a variety of moods and energy through the air, from a bouncy or bluesy midtempo to groovy and fast. Either way, you cannot stop your feet to swing along. 7€ at the door.
