Our inherent animal instincts, which are gathered widely through our Cosmic and Earthly Evolution to form the vast parts of the self. We may notice under the machinations of the mind our intuition, bodily awareness, and our sensate knowings constellate with the unique wisdom of the Animal Kingdom. We may call upon a Hawk’s sharp sight, the playful skills of an Otter, the fierceness of a wolf, the knowing of the Owl, the tricks of a Coyote, and the web grows wider and wider. Suddenly we find ourselves composed of parts gathered amongst our ecosystem, shared in living reverence. This month we give space to weave our own primal tapestry through the somatic opening of movement guided by plant medicine (cacao). With the honoring of the way creatures share their medicine in our lives, we invite you to take this opportunity to step into costume of an animal you love, you resonate with, or whom has impacted your life. To bring ourselves together in celebration, gratitude, and space for every facet to be felt, we gather the Dancestors; our lineages of creative somatic expression and ritual movement of full spectrum human experience. We open this space to commune with the natural world, the sacred wisdom of cacao "The True Facilitator of the Evening" as James Bird always says, and each other in Ecstatic connection of the mycelium web of community. We honor the warmth and prepare to support each other through the time of collecting our resources, the thinning of the veil, and the thinning of fullness of experience. Dancestors is an ode to our Ancestors, our relatives, who share this world with us. The DJed mix (by DJ Father Otter) will be a foray into inspirational music from around the world that invokes connection to unfamiliar, dormant, or alienated parts of the self, to bring us into emotional, physical, and spiritual coherence. Dancing in cohesion with our Ancestors and the self can invoke powerful release and transformation. We will take time to pray, meditate, and sing together with the spirit of cacao and James, Kailtlyn and Nash as facilitators. Then moving into a building fiery dance journey. After getting into the dance trance , the journey will culminate with a powerful live drumming session, leading us upward, and outward, cultivating a poignant intentional vibration together. A lilting energizing story songscape by Nash Atkins, James Bird, and community will wrap you in its warm embrace to close the journey of this chapter. Prepare to be opened, interwoven, and healed through the night of powerful rejuvenation. The studio lighting is gorgeous and gives a highlighted and glow-in-the-dark journey. Aerial hammocks silks are available for a whole new floating glowing rhythmic experience. Please remove pointy or sharp zippers, sequins, jewelry etc. from your body and clothing before entering the silks. We require a waiver to be in the silks for the liability of the studio.
