Dancestors Cacao Ecstatic Dance: Outdoor Summer Solstice Soirée

The Longest day and shortest night of the year, the heat of the sun, green overtaking our consciousness, expansive energetic connection, bugs, fresh veggies, fertile soil, and vigorous growth. This is the time of the summer solstice, and a moment to praise and honor all that is held within the flourishing season. We are full spectrum beings and at this pinnacle of bursting energy, a community can dance together to give thanks for all we are and all we come from. In reverence for the ancestors we celebrate in both ecstatic fun and hold each other in the challenges, griefs, and struggles we growth through, overcome, and the loss of those who are overcome. This outdoor Dancestors will be a time to stay with all our cycles utilizing the medicine of cacao to infuse our dance with energy and love for life. We will call the ancestors into our dance, being present with all the tendrils wrapping us up from around the globe. The many cultures that have synthesized into our present experience of society and lifestyle, and those we may relate with less frequently, yet deeply inform our walk in this world. Learning through somatic expression how to hold all in power and presence. There will be a portion of live drumming so bring a drum to join in! After the DJed journey, there will be a tender soundscape to aid in integration. At The Hallow in Russell, MA there is opportunity to dance outside amidst the hardwoods and evergreens and between the sweet burbles of the stream and rush of the waterfall. There will be moments to dance, swim, pray, and socialize together with a bonfire and DJed set by Father Otter. A seasonal altars holds space for you to connect in to the land, your ancestors, and what forces you cherish as animators. We will be offering small treats and drinks at the dance.
