Dancestors Holy Days Winter Ecstatic Dance

This is the rescheduled event from December and we will be keeping the theme of the "Holy Days" In this dark time, seasonally and cyclically for the world, stepping into our collective honor of the sacred, the water, the light, the love that keeps us all alive, and celebrating another year of this miraculous strange journey is essential. We can transcend the bounds of ideology and judgement by creating a safe space to commune with forces greater than ourselves in ways that feel reverent and authentic. With that in mind, this month at Dancestors, we will be creating a strong space of welcoming to all parts of ourselves as we dance together. We will share an Herbal Brew of plant allies from our bioregion to elevate our spirits, then participate in a meditative movement prayer leading into a multicultural ecstatic dance with beats of holy celebration from around the world. This set will be particularly curated to include tracks which represent the whole world's tradition of holidays and sacred celebration. Around the world there is a history of giving significance to the seasonal and cyclical shifts of light and weather, knowing there are mystical forces and spiritual energies involved in these shifts. There is something beyond our understanding at work and that is something we can all hold in divergent peaceful reverence. Peace and forgiveness is revolutionary. Can we hold each other in respect and love regardless of our individual or cultural paths? Can we move with all the emotions and sensations that arise as we share this life together? We will end the set with a foray into energetic live drumming, and then close with a healing live music integration together. Bring a drum or shaker to join the energy!
