DanceWS:Contact & Improvisation with Irene Sposetti

Project C and BeingMotion are glad to invite you to participate in a weekend of DANCE in Bangkok, hosting a special guest, IRENE SPOSETTI, international performing artist, teacher and dance maker. 🌟 4 and 5 of April This workshop is for movement practitioners, dancers and performing artists. All levels of experience are welcome and will coexist creating a constructive and nourishing learning environment for all. Specific tools and attention will be tailored according to the needs of individual participants. The training will include Contact Technique, Experiential Anatomy, Partnering Improvisation and Instant Composition. "States of Balance" We will concentrate on presence by enhancing sensorial awareness and listening, establishing a deep connection to our own body and its intelligence. We will explore movements on the floor, rediscovering natural, fluid and effortless pathways deeply rooted in our body memories, enabling us to swiftly shift levels. We will work with one another, learning to establish connection through touch and partnering exercises. Dancing in contact will enable us to move and travel in the space relating to the physical structure of a partner, together being, sensing, creating and transforming in playful and intuitive dance dialogues. Tracking and following, falling or rising, getting-offering support, leaning, flying and landing, having as the main tool our own ability to organise a fluid self-alignment at all times, managing wisely and efficiently the distribution of weight in motion. We will use movement to find creative ways of exploring oneself, expanding our capacity to embody and express, as well as developing our ability to cooperate and investigate with others. Accessing imagination, being at ease in the unknown, welcoming questions, enabling abstraction or narratives to arise from the dance, will be central to our improvisations. IRENE SPOSETTI is a multidisciplinary performing artist, teacher and dance maker. She studies drama, classical music and dance. While originally from Italy for the last nineteen years she has been living, travelling and working abroad as an independent freelancer. She is offering dance training, making performances and lectures in universities, schools, companies, festivals, cultural institutes, and independent platforms throughout Europe and Asia. Her artistic path has been therefore influenced by many different cultures and is deeply intertwined with self-inquiry investigations and practices. Find more info about Irene on the event wall!
