“To dance in nature is to connect with the elements within ourselves with fresh eyes and rediscover our oneness with all” What if we took our meditation and movement outdoors to the sounds, smells and visual beauty of the Earth? What if we radically shifted our view of movement practices to include connecting to nature along with the music as elements of our dance journey? Envision the gentle touch of the sun along with etherial tones, the breeze playing with your hair as melodies trill, your feet stomping in the grass to the rhythms of drums, and wrapping around trees to the lyrics of exploration. By stepping outside, consciously breathing in the fresh air and drinking in the environment, you inform your body of its connection with the Earth. By bringing our movement meditation outdoors, along with our dance with community... we receive the energy and inspiration of a new dancing partner... mother nature. Join us in a practice of dancing beyond the walls of studios and halls... allow the music to invite you in to new connection.... with the elements, with each other, with yourself.... Join this beginning dance into the outdoors ... what new delights will you discover in the journey? 🌀 ▬ LOGISTICS ▬ 🌺Reserve your Spot ($10): msg Sarah Monette or email [email protected] 6:00 pm Gather & Sync Music Gear 6:15 Opening Circle & Start the Journey 7:30 Midpoint "Reconnect" 8:00 Closing Circle & Harvest 🌀MUSIC: Each session will introduce a carefully crafted musical journey to reflect the theme, season, group, and environment... DJ'd music from around the world will take you on an ecstatic wave of exploration, connection, and personal expression! 🌀BEYOND: Allow the music to take you where you are inspired to go... both internally and in the environment. You may find yourself dancing with others in the group or following the melodic invitation to explore. 🌀MIDPOINT: Around 7:30pm, without stopping the music, there will be an intension to come back together... consider this an invitation to reconnect with the group if you wish... you are completely welcome to continue on your own journey... just know this will be happening at 7:30pm if you wish to swing by in your dance. 🌀CLOSING: The musical journey will start to wind down to a "connective end time" in which you're invited to come back to our starting location and close the dance with the group in whatever way you wish... whether it's engaging with others or simply returning to the starting space. Regardless of whether you chose to dance off on your own or stay with the group we ask you return to our starting point for closing circle when the music concludes and you can turn in your gear. ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ IMPORTANT!! PLEASE BRING ❖ ❖ ❖ ❖ 1. comfortable clothes and layers to wear 2. full water bottle 3. sunblock & bug spray if necessary 4. Identification (ID will be exchanged for gear & returned) 5. Headphones/Earbuds (we'll configure your gear with ours when you arrive thus the earlier you arrive the more likely you'll be set for the 6:15pm start!) 🎧Headphones/Earbuds - the better quality you use the better the sound experience will be! Bluetooth recommended for maximum mobility and range of movement in your dance. [Please no photos/videos or pets] ▬ GUIDELINES ▬ 1. Respect the space/environment 2. Let yourself be free from judgement & move as inspired 3. Respect others & get consent before contact 4. Dance sober & free from conversation 5. no screens, video, or photos to allow freedom This is a unique experience moving in a public space.
