Join us on Saturday, February 11th upon the earth and under the sky, for another outdoor dance to celebrate and honor my (Phoenix) last dance as a steward and occupant of this place I have called home for the last 4.5 years.
Call it a farewell (for now) celebration as I set sail into the unknown, once again, to honor all that has been created here on this sacred ground that we call the Lighthouse.
The theme we will be dancing with is "Become the Lighthouse" as a reminder to myself and each of us that no matter where we go, or how far away from the known and familiar we travel, the light within will always guide us Home.
This will be a special extended dance ritual and celebration. We will incorporate a cacao ceremony and a double wave with guest dj Elkemist to support the first wave of this offering and myself dj'ing the final wave.
So mark your calendar- take the space you need, bring the kids and your loved ones...and prepare to dive in for a dance upon the land to Become the Lighthouse.
There is no way to do it wrong, simply bring yourself and your pulsing heart.
I shall meet you there <3

What is Dancing Freedom?
Dancing Freedom is a somatic, ecstatic and shamanic dance practice that supports the re-emergence of embodied wholeness. By gathering in community we dance an elemental wave, tapping into the fundamental building blocks that we are made of: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether.
Together, we co-create a safe space for Y(our) true self to experience full bodied expression.
In this movement practice, we dance in ceremony; we give ourselves permission to enter the mythic, to work with our intent and welcome our felt senses to weave a new reality for ourselves and all our relations.
All bodies, abilities and backgrounds are welcome. The practice supports physical fitness, emotional and spiritual healing, personal and leadership development and the ability to create and sustain healthy relationships.
About Your Guides:
My name is Phoenix, and I firmly believe that each and every one of us has a unique role to play in our evolving culture and in the shifting of the current paradigm. I have committed my life to co-creating spaces and opportunities for people to unite with one another and nature to put their pieces of the puzzle together.
I combine my passion for teaching, embodiment, ceremony, ritual and communing with nature, to play my part in weaving our collective visions into the web that we are each a part of.
My purpose is to inspire and empower others to share their gifts. I am here to remind others to stop playing small, encouraging them to share their gifts and to remember that we are all here to work together towards the “more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.”
I am a student of life, a teacher, a medicine woman and an embodied leader who unapologetically shares my vision for global synergy and collaboration.
If you want to learn more about me or the movement modality that I serve in this world- please refer to www.dancingfreedom.com
If you are curious about the kind of vibe I like to share- you can check out a bunch of my playlists on mixcloud. https://www.mixcloud.com/hikarijin/
Elkemist (Jase Aether) curates sound journeys that weave together elements of the organic and electronic – medicine music, downtempo, bass, and world flavours with tribal rhythms. Punctuated by live instrumentation to support a full sound exploration, the goal of his sets is to encourage the wisdom and guidance of the body to be expressed, supported and released.
He has been offering sonic alchemy for a few years while co-creating ceremonial dance gatherings and intentional festivals around Canada and Australia to help cultivate collaboration, connection and healing for our expanding dance community.

*We acknowledge we dance on the lands of the Wurundjeri people, on stolen lands that were never ceded. It is our intention to create a space of connection and repair, to truly acknowledge what it means to live on these lands, so that we may learn a deeper respect for country and custodians.
