We will work to understand the inner ecologies of our bodies, develop embodied presence and deepen sensuous awareness as support for finding freedom in movement through essential practices such as falling, flying and listening. In each session, we explore inherent motions, functions and structures, spatial awareness and our relationship with natural forces in solo as well as contact, supported by imagination, silence and touch. There will be tangible exercises and more open-ended exploration, as well as space for following curiosities together. Along with physical and embodied practice, the space welcomes contemplation and sharing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Registration is necessary and spaces are limited, contact me (Julie) in case of questions and/or for registration. Full commitment and punctual attendance is required. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ๐€๐›๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐‰๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ž Julie is a multidisciplinary artist engaging with somatic and contemplative practices as a research of presence, and relation with inner-outer nature. She is deeply inspired by the natural world, silence and space. Her movement education has grown from ballet to modern and contemporary dance, and since six years into the fields of (eco)somatics, body-mind-centering and contact improvisation. She relates to dance improvisation as a contemplative practice; a space for self inquiry, research of life, and embodied conversation with something larger than ourselves. Since 2015, she has been living semi-nomadically, studying somatic and meditative practices throughout the world, and since four years she is based in Thailand, continuing and sharing her research. Besides movement, she works with clay, textile and design. Through all of her work, encouraging connection with body, earth, space and imagination.
