Dancing our Freedom with Kiaora!

"Dance gives you the greatest freedom of all: to express with your whole self, the person you are.” ~ Melissa Hayden ~ Kiaora Fox is our Minister of Music this Sunday! She says, “Playing for Santa Barbara Dance Tribe is really special. This ecstatic dance group has an encouragement and commitment to the dance that is wild and loving. Growing up here in Santa Barbara I am aware of a Lyrical shadow that causes ungrounded and distractible ways (within myself and others). To offer medicine for this shadow I seek music that gives grounding, roots, and connectivity. My sound takes on a hybrid of strings, electronic and bluesy world beats, songs that remind us of our raw contemporary and tribal nature. As an empathic person, I seek music that is less distorted and more like live music to encourage us to dance our freedom. I enjoy creating integrative polarities of depth and lightness that fosters embodying a range of sensations, surrendering to the highs and lows, so all that needs to be expressed can be and we can return to our utmost centered presence. “ Minister of Music Kiaora Fox is the only 5Rhythms© Waves teacher in the Central Coast, she also teaches Yoga and Pilates. For much of her life Kiaora has studied in the healing arts and finds the best way to integrate any of life's experiences is through exploring the awareness of self in authentic movement. She brings a robust lifetime of wisdom in embodiment practices to her role as Minister of Music.
