Dancing the Eternal Beat with Bodhi

Ecstatic dance can be fun and chaotic but also grounding and spiritual with an eternal beat that we have all been dancing to since the first dance of our ancient ancestors." Minister of Music Bud was born and raised in Santa Barbara and has DJed in town for 25 years. His appreciation for music began at the age of five, and in the last two decades he’s studied musicianship, music production, dance, choir, as well as the violin, guitar, and keyboard. He’s been playing for Tribe since 2011, and currently he runs his own mobile DJ service. He says that ecstatic dance has opened him up to a world of music that crosses all genres. “I love how dances can go from high-energy to meditative and playful to quiet,” he says. In his sets he likes to weave together house, tribal, electronica, dubstep, R&B, ambient, and trance music.
