Dancing the Smallest Things - Creative Gathering, Hoi An, Vietnam

1-15 October 2025 “𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨” is a 2-week gathering in Hoi An, Vietnam, exploring arts and improvisation. Over 2 weeks, we co-create in an artist studio by the Thu Bon river, deepening our connection to each other and to the natural surroundings, celebrating friendship. THEMES: 𝘼 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙧 The studio is nested within a rural, quiet harbour where boats come to rest. Calm water welcomes each sunrise and sunset. Can our co-creation come from a place of safety and restfulness? 𝙂𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 Knowing that how we relate has a rippling effect to the larger whole, how can we extend our energy generously and effortlessly? Can we open ourselves to receive the infinite support present in our environment? How might the change in the world start from within us? 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙇𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙨 Our inner and outer landscapes are beautifully interconnected. Can we cultivate sensitivity, opening to the intelligence and wisdom of nature? We drop into this process through internal somatic practices, as well as stepping out, taking time to feel the textures of Hoi An. 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢: 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮 | 𝗨𝗦𝗔 & 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺 is a psychotherapist and an author of the book “Living from the Inside Out". His interest in Creative Play goes back to 1994, he and fellow students formed a group and for 6 years they explored movement, sound, color and form, costume, improvisation and expressions that defy definition. He is interested in regenerating those energies with other willing playmates. 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗵 | 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺 (𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻) is a visual artist and designer. Her works explore the interconnection between community, nature and wellbeing through the arts. Her current interest is with interactive land art and performance. Linh co- found Collective Sonson, a design collective focuses on sustainability and modern handicrafts. As a contact dancer and facilitator, Linh has hosted several movement retreats across Vietnam since 2020. 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗪𝘂𝘇𝘆𝗸 | 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 & 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 is a multidisciplinary artist raised in South Africa. Her artistic work includes painting, film, poetry, performance and contact improvisation. She considers improvisation as the birthspace of creative practice. Her interest is to allow natural rhythm and truth to reveal itself. She has spent recent years studying and practicing Contact Improvisation in Thailand, and is curious about the potential of CI as a space that transcends cultural barriers and opens much needed states of listening of mutual support. . . .
