DANCING VOICES: A Daylong Vocal Journey

Come sing yourself alive! Let your voice run wild and free! Let your heart open in loving community! Join vocal magicians Joana Ayala and Kid Beyond — for DANCING VOICES: a daylong vocal journey. We’ll weave vocal play and improvisation with embodiment, movement, emotional expression… deep presence, deep listening, deep trust… heart, soul, spirit, shadow… luminous joy. It’s like contact improv, with your voice… a medicine journey, where music is the medicine. This journey is deeply healing — beautiful, powerful, spiritual, magical. It can open vast, transcendent communion with the Divine. You don't need to be a “good singer.” Just bring your heart, and an openness to explore. You’ll get to explore on your own… in glorious community… 1-on-1 with partners… and in nature. The journey takes place at the SourceLight Sanctuary, a beautiful property in Sonoma County. We’ll be in a cozy yurt for much of the day, and outside in nature at times. Only 22 slots are available — so we can craft a personalized experience. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ THE DETAILS ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ✨ Arrival: Please arrive from *9:30-9:45am*, so we can offer a full day of vocal love. :) ✨ Bring: A water bottle, a cushion to sit on, lunch for the day. ✨ Food: We’ll break at lunchtime — bring your own meal. ✨ Covid: To keep the group healthy, *please test* on Saturday morning. If you test positive, or have any symptoms, we lovingly ask that you join us at a future gathering. ✨ Sliding scale: Please consider paying at the highest level you can afford — so we can offer the journey to those who need to pay less. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ YOUR GUIDES ~~~~~~~~~~~~ JOANA AYALA is a certified sound practitioner, who studied at The California Institute of Integral Studies. She creates spaces to explore sound as medicine and the healing power of voice. As a vocalist, she weaves melodic and fluid vocalizations in ceremonial and therapeutic settings that create an atmosphere of deep relaxation and transcendence. KID BEYOND is a singer, songwriter, songleader, beatboxer, legendary vocal instrumentalist, and Buddhist teacher of heartfulness and mindfulness. He offers music as medicine — a joyful, playful, soulful, powerful alchemy of expression, connection, inspiration, and healing. He's played Coachella, Treasure Island, SXSW, Lightning in a Bottle... opened for Imogen Heap, Michael Franti, Will I Am, Bassnectar, James Brown, Ray Charles, the Neville Brothers... and many more.
