Dancing Wednesdays: Swing! at Mundo

Swing Night - Wednesday, June 22nd 7:30 pm to midnight LESSON - Beginners. Please join us for the basics of swing dancing and lindy hop! No partner or experience necessary, just bring your comfortable shoes and happy feet! We will rotate partners frequently during the lesson so you will instantly make lots of new friends!! You will have a chance to mingle and dance with each other and try out new dance moves to 1930's and 40's jazz music. The lesson will be taught by friendly and experienced instructors Akemi Kinukawa & Lewi Gilamichael of Swing Dance Astoria. She is a founder and instructor of Swing Dance Astoria. She also teaches at You Should Be Dancing! Dance Studio in Manhattan as well as Brooklyn Swings. During the day, she is a teaching artist of Dancing Classrooms, also known as “Mad Hot Ballroom,” sharing her passion for partner dancing with children in public schools. She has performed and choreographed Lindy Hop routines for various events, including Midsummer Night Swing at Lincoln Center.
